O God, if the best for me with Thee lies in delaying the taking to task for my sake of him who has wronged me and in refraining from vengeance toward him until the Day of Decision and the Gathering of Disputants, then bless Muhammad and his Household, strengthen me from Thee with true intention and lasting patience, give me refuge from evil desire and the impatience of the greedy, and form in my heart the image of Thy reward which Thou hast stored away for me and the repayment and punishment which Thou has prepared for my disputant! Make this a cause of my contentment with what Thou hast decreed and my trust in what Thou hast chosen! Amen, Lord of the worlds! Thou art of bounty abounding and Thou art powerful over everything. Islamic Manners of Du’a - آداب الدعاء

Duás favorable time:
Imam Ali (s) said: Seize the opportunity to pray at four occasions:
When Quran is being recited, when athan is being recited, when it is raining and when the two armies meet for martyrdom.

Imam Jafer al-Sadiq (s) said: When you feel you are being compassionate seize the opportunity to pray, for a compassionate heart asks sincerely.

Imam al-Baqir (s) said: Almighty Allah favors every hard praying servant. So seize the opportunity to pray just before daybreak until sunrise; it is a time in which heaven’s gates are opened, subsistence is distributed and major prayers are granted.

Who's a true Shia? Hadith 16

Abu Ja’far (Imam Baqir) has said: “One who would die without
having an Imam (32) his death would be like the death of ignorance.
One who would die and would know who his Imam is then the
coming of this matter (the rise of al-Mahdi with Divine Authority)
earlier or later will not affect him at all. One who would know who
his Imam is he would be like the one present with Al-Qaem in his
tents.” (33)

Evil Parents And Kindness

Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as) has said: “There are three things which Allah, the Mighty and the Glorious has not permitted anyone to forsake: returning a trust to its owner, irrespective of whether he is a good person or an evil one; fulfilling one’s promises and covenants, irrespective of whether it has been made to a good person or an evil one; being good and kind towards one’s parents, irrespective of whether they are good or evil.”

Short Maxims of Imam Muhammed Al-Baqir (as)

  1. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: Use kind words with the hypocrite, love the faithful believer sincerely, and regard your association with (even) the Jew who sits with you.
  2. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: No mixture is better than the mixture of clemency and knowledge.
  3. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: The whole perfection is knowledgeability of the religious affairs, steadfastness against misfortunes, and moderation in living.
  4. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: By God (I swear), the arrogant is trying to strip God.
  5. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him), one day, asked the attendants, “What is personality?” Each of them provided his own opinion. Afterwards, he (peace be upon him) said: Personality is to avoid greed so as not to be humble, avoid begging so as not to be disgraced, avoid niggardliness so as not to be insulted, and avoid ignorance so as not to be opposed.
“Who can do all these?” wondered they. He (peace be upon him) answered: He who wants to be like him who looks into the pupil of the eye, the musk in an odor, and enjoys the same standing of a present caliph –king- will be able to do so.
  6. Before Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him), a man said: “O Allah, make us do without people.” The Imam instructed: Do not say such a statement; you should say: O Allah, make us do without the evil ones. A faithful brother cannot do without his brother.
  7. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: Do the right and seclude from whatever does not concern you. Avoid your enemy. Beware of your friend except the honest ones who fear God. Never accompany the sinful and never show him your secrets. Seek the consult of those who fear God.
  8. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: A twenty-year friendship is kinship.
  9. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: You would better deal with no one except him whom you did a favor.
  10. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: Three manners are the charities of this world and the world to come: they are to pardon him who oppressed you, regard him who ruptured relations with you, and possess yourself when one’s ignorance inflicts you.
  11. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: Oppression is of three sorts; a sort God will not forgive, another God will forgive, and a third God will not overlook it. Regarding the first one, it is polytheism. The second is the secret oppression of oneself. The third is the servants’ oppressing each other.
  12. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: The servant (of God) who abstains from supporting his brother and exerting efforts for settling his need will suffer from exerting efforts for settling a need that causes him to commit a sin and deprives him of the reward. The servant who abstains from spending alms that pleases the Lord will spend many folds of those alms in a field that displeases God.
  13. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: Anything of God’s act is good for the faithful believer.
  14. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: God dislikes people who beg each other importunately, but he loves it for Himself. Hence, God the Glorified likes people to beg Him and ask for what He has in possession.
  15. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: People’s admonitions will not benefit him whom God does not make him learn lessons of admonition from his own self.
  16. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: The scale of him whose outer appearance is more preferable than his conscience is weightless.
  17. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: It happens that you address to a man, ‘May God fling your enemy,’ while that man’s only enemy is God.
  18. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: Three categories of people should not say salaam: they are those who are in their ways for offering the (congregational) Friday Prayer, those who walk in a funeral, and those who sit in a public bathroom.
  19. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: A scholar whose knowledge is advantageous (for people) is better than seventy thousand worshippers.
  20. Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: A servant will not be scholar before he gets rid of envying those who precede him and belittling those who are less than him in (grade) of knowledge.

Who's a true Shia? Hadith 11

Ali bin Husain bin Ali bin Abu Taleb (Imam Sajjad) has said: “The
verse “The blood relations are nearer to one another in the Book of Allah” (8:75), was revealed about us. And this verse, “He made it a word to continue in his progeny” (43:28), was also revealed about us. The Imamate will stay in the progeny of Husain bin Ali until the Day of Judgment. The Qaem will have two occultations, one of which is longer than the other. The first one will last for six days, six months, or six years. (25) However, the second one will last so long that most of those who used to believe in it will deny it. Only those who have strong YAQEEN (certainty) who posses knowledge based on truth who do not find discomfort (in their hearts) to accept our will, and who submit to us – the Ahlul Bait, will stay steady in believing in (the Qaem).” (26)

25-al -Fadl ibn Yasar said, "I asked abu Ja'far , ‘Is there a definite time for this
matter (the rise of al-Mahdi with Divine Authority)?" He said, "Those who set a
definite time have lied, those who set a definite time have lied, those who set a
definite time have lied. When Musa (Moses) came out to delegate before his lord
and gave the people a definite time for his return and Allah added an other ten
days his people said, ‘He has broken his promise.’" They then did what they did.
When we say a hadith (make a statement to you) and if our hadith comes true you
should say, "Allah has spoken the truth." If we say a hadith to you (make a
statement) and if doe not come true, you should say, "Allah has spoken the truth."
You will be rewarded twice."(al kafi 1:368)

Suitable Engravings for Every Gem:

Husain ibne Khalid visited Imam Reza (a.s.) and asked him if it was permissible
to visit the toilet wearing a gem on which was engraved:
‘There is no God but Allah.’
The Imam (a.s.) replied that this act was good for no one. Husain further
asked if the Prophet and other ancestors did not visit the toilet with
the ring on. The Imam (a.s.) replied in the affirmative but also stated that
the ring was in the right hand and that Husain should stop defaming his
ancestors. Then Imam (a.s.) said that naqsh (engraving) on the gem of
Adam, which was brought from heaven, was thus:
‘There is no God but one Allah and Mohammed is the Messenger of
Allah.’
The engraving on the Prophet's ring was:
‘There is no God but Allah, Mohammed is the Messenger of Allah.’
The engraving on Hazrat Ali (a.s.)'s ring was:
‘Allah is Master of the kingdom.’
The engraving on Imam Hasan (a.s.)'s ring was:
‘Verily, All honour (as a whole) belongeth (only) to God.’
The engraving on Imam Husain (a.s.)'s ring was:
‘Verily God accomplisheth His purpose.’
The ring worn by Hazrat Ali ibnul Husain (a.s.) and Imam Mohammed
Baqir (a.s.) belonged to Imam Husain (a.s.).
The engraving on the ring of Imam Ja'far-e-Sadiq (a.s.) was:
‘Allah is my master and He will safeguard me from His creatures.’
The engraving on the ring of Imam Moosa Kazim (a.s.) was:
‘Sufficient for me is Allah.’
After speaking about the engraving of Imam Ali Reza (a.s.), he put
forth his hand on which he was wearing the ring of his father.
According to the tradition from Syed Ibne Taoos (r.a.), a person visited
Imam Ja'far-e-Sadiq (a.s.) and said that he was scared of the ruler of Jazeerah
as his enemies had poisoned the ears of ruler and he may kill him.
The Imam (a.s.) ordered him to make a ring set in with a thick gem of
Hadeed Cheeni on one side of which the following three sentences
should be engraved:
‘I seek the refuge of the Mightiness of Allah. I seek the shelter of the
words of Allah. I seek the shelter of the Prophet of Allah.’
and at the back of the gem the following two lines should be engraved:
‘I have brought faith on Allah and his Books. I myself rely on Allah
and his Prophets.’ and further, the following should be engraved on all the four corners
of the gem:
‘I stand witness with all submission to there being no Creator except
Allah.’
When he will wear this ring all his difficulties will be solved; especially
he will not be afraid of the wicked. And if the ring is tied, women
will have an easy delivery and they will not be affected by any evil eye.
It is very important to protect this gem. Dirt should be kept away from it
and it should not be taken in bathroom or toilet as it contains the secrets
of God. Shias of Ahle Bait (a.s.) who are afraid of the enemy should keep
this ring dearer than life and hide it from their enemies and keep it a
secret except from those who are reliable. According to the traditionalist,
his experience proved what the Imam (a.s.) had said.
According to Imam Mohammed Baqir (a.s.), if a person possesses a
ring set in with Aqiq and turns it towards his palm and then looks at it
and recites the 97th chapter of the Holy Book (Sura Inna Anzalna):
‘In the name of Allah, the Beneficient, the Merciful.
Verily, We sent it (The Quran) down in the night of Qadr! What can
make thee know what the night of Qadr is? The night of Qadr is better
than a thousand months. The Angels and the Spirit descend therein with
the permission of their Lord, with (decrees) of all affairs; Peace is (in the
whole night) till the breaking of the dawn!’
And recites this prayer:
‘I have brought faith on that One Allah who has no partner and I do
not believe in Jibl and Taghoot (idols)! And have also brought faith on
the beginning and the end, the visible and the invisible (aspects) of Mohammed
(s.a.w.a.) and Ale Mohammed (a.s.) whether their Imamat has
been declared or they are in their temporary disappearance. Mohammed
(s.a.w.a.) is the Prophet of Allah and Hazrat Ali (a.s.) is the Divine Vicegerent
of Allah.’
then God keeps him protected the whole day from trouble whether
they are descendent from heaven or earth and he will be protected till
the evening by God and God's friends will guide him.
According to another tradition, a person who makes a ring set in Aqiq
should have the following engraved on it so that God will protect him
from a bad death and he will die in his faith:
‘Mohammed (s.a.w.a.) is the Prophet of Allah and Hazrat Ali (a.s.) is
the Divine Vicegerent of Allah.’

Love for AhlulBayt

Imam Baqir [a.s.] said: "The best means by which servants can obtain nearness to Allah, Mighty and Glorious, is the obedience to Allah, the obedience to His Messenger, and the obedience to those charged with (spiritual) authority."
Then, he [a.s.] added: "The love of us (Ahlul Bayt) is Faith and the hatred of us is infidelity."

Who's a true Shia? Hadith 7

Pak Shia KillingAbu Ja’far Muhammad bin Ali (Imam Baqir) explained the verse:
“O you who believe! Be patient and vie one with another in
endurance and be ready (to defend against surprise attacks) and
fear Allah that haply you may succeed” (3:200).

He (the Imam) said: “Be patient in carrying out your obligatory
duties, preserve against your enemies, and be prepared to be
garrisoned at the frontiers of (the army of) your awaited Imam.”(1)

The Imam’s Displeasure

Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as) relates: “Once my father saw a person and his son walking together. As they walked, the son was leaning against the arm of his father. (This act of the son was so abhorrent and infuriating to my father that) he (as) never spoke to him throughout his life.”

Who's a true Shia? Hadith 1

Jabir narrates that Abu Ja’far (Imam Baqir) said: “Is it enough for
a person to (merely) embellish (oneself) as a Shia by professing love
of us, Ahlul-Bait? Nay! By Allah, a person is not our follower except
the one who fears Allah and obeys Him. O' Jabir! Our followers are
not recognized save by humility, submission, honesty, praising Allah
abundantly, fasting and prayers, attending to the poor, needy,
debtors and orphans who live near him, saying the truth, reciting the
Pak Shia KillingQur'an, withholding the tongue from people except for benediction;
and being trustworthy to their relatives in any affairs."
Jabir asked: "O son of the Messenger of Allah! I do not know
anybody with these traits."
Imam Baqir said: "O' Jabir! Do not let the various sects affect
you. Do you think that it suffices for one to say that he likes Imam
Ali and he is his follower, but does not do anything to support his
claim? Or he says that he likes the Prophet , who is even better
than Imam Ali , but does not take his example and follow his
deeds and act according to the Prophet's tradition. Just having love
for the Prophet is of no use for him. Therefore fear God, and act in
such a way as to attain what is near God, since there is no relation
of kin between God and anyone. The one most loved by God is the
one who is the most pious, and the noblest one is the one who fears
God and obeys Him. I swear by God that it is not possible to get
close to God unless by His obedience, and we do not hold the key to
relief from the Fire of Hell, and no one has any authority over God.
Whoever is obedient to God is our friend, and whoever disobeys God
is our enemy. No one can attain our friendship unless by having
nobility and piety."5

Advantages of Miswak (i.e. Cleaning Teeth With Any Raw Branch of Tree):

(From the book of Allama Majlisi: Tehzeeb-ul-Islam)

According to many reliable traditions from Imam Ja'far-e-Sadiq (a.s.),
miswak is the sunnat of all Prophets. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) used to
say that Hazrat Jibrael asked him to do miswak so often, that he started
fearing that his teeth would be rubbed off.
According to Imam Ja'far-e-Sadiq (a.s.), there are twelve advantages of
miswak:
a) It is the sunnat of Prophets
b) Cleans the mouth
c) Increases brightness of the eyes
d) Causes God's goodwill
e) Takes out sputum
f) Increases memory
g) Teeth are whitened
h) The reward of good deeds increases manifold
i) Stops weakness and falling of teeth
j) Strengthens roots of the teeth
k) Increases appetite in a healthy manner
l) Angels are happy with all those who do miswak
According to a tradition from Hazrat Ali (a.s.), the Holy Prophet
(s.a.w.a.) had advised people to do miswak at the time of every prayer.
According to Hazrat Moosa Kazim (a.s.) and Imam Ali Reza (a.s.),
among the sunnats of the Prophet Ibrahim (a.s.), there are five things
about the upper half of the body and five about the lower part of the
body. Among those that are concerned with head are:
a) To do miswak
b) Trimming the moustache
c) Parting hair to have place for masah
d) To gargle
e) To put water in the nose
The five things that are sunnat about the lower part of the body are:
a) To get circumcised
b) To remove unwanted hair on the lower abdomen
c) To remove hair under armpits
d) To cut nails
e) To clean with water after urination
According to Imam Ja'far-e-Sadiq (a.s.) when one gets up for Namaz-e-
Shab (night prayer) one should do miswak as an angel descends from heaven and keeps his mouth on one's mouth and whatever one is reciting;
Quran, prayers or durood, he takes it to heaven. Therefore it is necessary
that one's mouth should be smelling good. (If there is not enough
time, it is better to clean one's teeth with fingers only.)
According to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.), there are three things which
sharpen memory and cure all pains - chewing kundoor, doing miswak
and reciting the Quran-e-Majeed.
Another tradition quotes the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) as saying that two
rakat prayers with miswak is better than seventy rakat prayers without
it.
According to Mohammed Baqir (a.s.), doing miswak in the bathroom
causes one's teeth to fall and also one should never stop doing miswak
even if it is done once in three days.

Etiquette of Joking, Laughing, Whispering, Sitting in a Company and of Keeping the Sanctity of a Gathering:

(Tehzeeb-ul-Islam, Allama Majlisi's book)

According to a tradition coming from Imam Mohammed Baqir (a.s.), one
should not whisper when there are only three people gathered, as it is
bound to hurt the third person present.
According to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.), when a person ignores and
cuts short the talk of a fellow-momin, it is like scratching the face of the
fellow-momin.
Many traditions have stated that when one sits with someone, or in
some gathering, then one should not disclose the talk which had taken
place in their company before others, unless one has taken their prior
permission.
According to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.), one should keep the sanctity
of all meetings and gatherings except when murder, rape or loot were
committed.
Imam Ja'far-e-Sadiq (a.s.) states that there is no momin who is not used
to humour and is also well-behaved.
According to Imam Mohammed Baqir (a.s.), a person who enlivens
the mood of a company, is considered a friend by the Almighty God,
provided he is not using bad language for the purpose.
According to Imam Ja'far-e-Sadiq (a.s.), a momin only laughs with a
smile, not with a loud sound.
In another tradition he (a.s.) has stated that laughing loudly makes a
coward of a man and wastes faith in the same manner as salt melts in
water; and that laughing without any purpose is ignorance.
Yet in another tradition, laughing a lot has been prohibited as it spoils
the youthfulness of one's looks.
He (a.s.) has also stated that you can only joke with those you are intimate
with, but you should never use your hands and feet (i.e. no practical
jokes should be done).
A reliable tradition states that when one roars with laughter, one is
submitting oneself to shaitan and a lot of laughing robs one of one's look
of freshness.
Hazrat Ali (a.s.) has stated that one should not make fun of others as it
is understood to be a low type of abuse and it creates more improper
feelings in the other's heart.
A reliable tradition from Imam Moosa Kazim (a.s.) states that joking a
lot makes one lose the light of faith and lessens generosity and
manliness.
In another tradition it is stated that Prophet Yahya (a.s.) used to cry
only - he never smiled. Whereas Prophet Esa (Jesus) (a.s.) used to cry and
laugh as well. In another tradition it is related that Hazrat Dawood (a.s.)
asked his son Hazrat Sulaiman (a.s.) that he should not laugh a lot, for a
lot of laughing makes a man poor on the Day of Judgement.
The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) has stated that for a person aware of hell it
is very difficult to laugh.
According to Imam Ja'far-e-Sadiq (a.s.), people who laugh a lot, just to
while their time or on account of corruption, will have to cry a lot on the
Day of Judgement. There are a few people who cry over their sins and
they will laugh a lot.
All these traditions emphasize that a momin should not always make a
face and be reserved with everyone; on the contrary, a momin should be
broad minded, well-mannered and laugh a little, but he should not laugh
a lot and make fun of others and it is a sigh of a low and degraded
person.

Teaching of the Prophet, narrated by Imam al-Baqir (A)

Al-Kulayni, in al-Kafi, reports with his chain of narrators from al-'Imam al Baqir (A) that he said,

"The Messenger of Allah (S) said: 'God, the Sublime and the Blessed, said:
"The workers (of deeds) for My sake should not, for My reward, trust the works they have done: for, verily, should they labour and toil for all their lives in My service and worship, they would fall short in their worship and will not attain to the reality of My service in what they seek with Me of My magnanimity and bounty, My paradise and the high stations in My proximity.

Rather, they should rely upon My mercy and put hope in My favour and be contented of their good opinion (husn al-zann) of Me; for, verily, therein My mercy will reach them, My good pleasure will go forth to them, and My forgiveness shall envelop them. For, indeed, I am Allah, the Beneficent and the Merciful, and I have been named so on that account"."
Al-Kafi, II, 71, hadith 1.

If someone calls your mother black, would you respond to him like Imam Baqir?

An adherent of a revealed religion (kitabi) attacked the Ima`m, was aggressive towards him, and addressed him with bitter words:
 “You are baqar (cow).

However, the Imam treated him kindly. He smiled at him, saying:
“No, I am Ba`qir.

The adherent went on attacking the Imam, saying: “You are the son of the cook.
The Imam smiled at him. This aggression did not excite him. Rather he said to him:
“That is her job.

Still the adherent went on attacking the Imam, saying:
You are the son of the black woman….

The Ima`m did not become angry. Rather he treated him kindly, saying:

If you are truthful, may Allah forgive you. If you are a liar, may Allah forgive you.
Thus, the adherent admired the Ima`m’s high morals that marked the morals of the prophets. Then he became Moslem.

"Shia is a kafir, because he follows the correct Sunnah!"

Description:

In this lengthy video, I try to expose this rigid, Alim, from a particular sect of Islam, who says Shias are Kafir, via the false beliefs, and also, if shias of Imam Sadiq (as) are disbelievers, how comes Allah, accepts the dua of these Kafirs, straight away, to detest a man, with the love, of diseases and cruel death, from the likes of Leprosy...

In this video, I try to explain, the event of Imam Sadiq (as)'s Mubahila, with a false, accusing Kafir!

Cook Tasting Food While Fasting

Here are four authentic Aḥādīth that allows for a cooking person who is fasting to taste the food they are making. There is an authentic ḥadīth[1] where the Imām (عليه السلام) denies a person from tasting the food, but scholars interpret that ḥadīth as it being makrūh (undesirable) to taste the food without a reason (i.e. to check for salt, etc.).

The ḥadīth regarding a mother chewing the food for her child, if she happens to swallow it, she will have to spit three times.[2]

From al-Ḥalabī from Abī `Abd Allāh that he was asked about a women cooking and she is fasting and she tastes the broth in the pot. He (عليه السلام) said: ‘No problem’. He (al-Ḥalabī) said that he (عليه السلام) was asked about a women who has a child, and she is fasting, can she chew up the bread and feed him (the child)? So he (عليه السلام) said: ‘No problem, (also is the case) for a bird she has’[3]

From Hammād b. `Uthmān said, Ibn Abī Ya`fūr asked Abā `Abd Allāh (عليه السلام), that I heard a fasting person can pour medicine in his hears. He (عليه السلام) said, ‘Yes, and he can taste broth and he can chew for fledgling’[4]

From Muḥammad b. Muslim from Abī Ja`far (عليه السلام) said, ‘There is no problem if a fasting person tastes (what is in) the pot’[5]

`Alī b. Ja`far from his brother Mūsa (عليه السلام) said, ‘I asked him about a fasting person tasting the drink and food until he finds the food in his throat’. He (عليه السلام) said: ‘Do not do that’ I said: ‘And if he does (that), what is upon?’ He (عليه السلام) said: ‘There is nothing upon him, nor does he have to repeat (his fasts)’[6]

Some Facts on Sayeda Fatima Zahra (sa)

Fatima Zahra (sa) is one personality, whom is the light bearer of the light which comes from nothingness, but the roots of the power of Allah. In other words, she is the demand, the root herself to success, and the ultimate feature of Islam for women to click upon in the mind and switch to her shoes for guidance and lovely teachings.

Imam Muhammed Al-Baqir (as) has narrated:

"Fatima (sa) will have a stand on the gate of Hell. When The Day of Resurrection occurs, either “Infidel” or “Believer” will be written on every man’s forehead. Then a lover (of Ahlulbayt) who had made many sins is ordered to go to Hell. Fatima reads on his forehead “A Lover”, so she says:” My God and My Lord! You have named me Fatima and by me, You made all of those who follow me and follow My descendants forbidden to Hell. Your Word is the truth and You don’t break Your oath. Thus, Allah Almighty says:O Fatima You have told the truth. Indeed! I named You Fatima and I forbade, by You, all of those who love You and love and follow your descendants to Hell. My Word is the truth and I don’t break My Oath, Yet I ordered My servant to enter Hell, so that You can intercede for him; so that all My angels, prophets, messengers and people can know Your position and rank from Me. Therefore, whoever has “Believer” written on his forehead, hold his hand and take him to Heaven."
